Brandon Saad is a hockey player with the NHL Chicago Blackhawks. Saad was drafted in the second round, 43rd overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Saad finished the 201112 OHL season with a league-best 1.73 points-per-game average. The Blackhawks named Saad to the starting roster for the lockout-shortened 201213 season. Saad scored his first career NHL goal on February 5, 2013, against Antti Niemi of the San Jose Sharks. On February 22, 2013, Saad scored a game-winning shorthanded goal against the Sharks to secure an NHL-record 17th straight game with at least one point to start a season for the 201213 Blackhawks, breaking the previous record of 16 straight games held by the 200607 Anaheim Ducks. May 6th, 2013, Saad was named as a finalist for the 2013 Calder Memorial Trophy. On June 24, 2013, Saad won his first Stanley Cup as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Boston Bruins in six games.
